is a poet / writer born and raised in the Puerto Rican neighborhood of Humboldt Park, Chicago. A first-generation college student presently completing a double major in Communication and English. Her work has appeared in the Chicana/Latina Studies: The Journal of Mujeres Activas En Letras Y Cambio Social (MALCS). Yovani resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her 12-year old daughter Felíz, and their dog Nála.
